Naran is known as the land of fairies. Well, one can not argue why. The place is heavenly, a true embodiment of peace, calm and nature. The Turks ruled the area of Kohistan since 1399 and this rule continued till 1703. After that the Swati’s attacked the area and the Thakot fort, which was being defended by Shamsher khan Turk, was occupied by the Swatis. The west was called Swat Kohistan and the east, Hazara Kohistan, which now includes Naran and surroundings. Naran is a medium-sized town in upper Kaghan Valley in Mansehra District of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is located 119 kilometers (74 mi) from city. It is located about 65 kilometers (40 mi) away from Babusar Top.
